Scope and Topic

This eleventh WIEN workshop deals with density functional (DFT) calculations of solids using the (full-potential) Augmented Plane Wave plus Local Orbitals (APW+lo) method as embodied in the WIEN2k code (http://www.wien2k.at) or related topics.

The workshop covers three aspects:

  1. Introduction to DFT, APW+lo, and WIEN2k
  2. Applications using WIEN2k code (and related methods)
  3. Lectures on and exercises with WIEN2k

        form Kansai International Airport to Kyoto city

        Please check the web site of Kansai International Airport, in which you can find access information to Kyoto city.

        1) by train 

            JR will take you directly to the JR Kyoto terminal station (Limited express HARUKA 73 min. JPY 3290).

            local trains are also available, but no direct train to Kyoto (JPY 1830).

        2) by bus

            Airport Limousine will take you directly to the JR Kyoto terminal station (105 min. JPY 2300).

        3) by airport shuttle

            MK SKY Gate shuttle will take you directly to the hotel in Kyoto city (JPY 3000).

        1) by taxi (30 min. approx. JPY 2000)

        2) by bus 

            Kyoto Bus #17 to Ohara. Get off at Tadekura-bashi stop which is 100m south of FIFC  (40 min. JPY 220).
