Scope and Topic
This eleventh WIEN workshop deals with density functional (DFT)
calculations of solids using the (full-potential) Augmented Plane Wave
plus Local Orbitals (APW+lo) method as embodied in the WIEN2k code (http://www.wien2k.at) or related
topics.
The workshop covers three aspects:
- Introduction to DFT, APW+lo, and WIEN2k
- Applications using WIEN2k code (and related methods)
- Lectures on and exercises with WIEN2k

#17 to Ohara. Get off at Tadekura-bashi stop which is 100m south of FIFC
(40 min. JPY 220).
Registration & Fee
- Application for registration has been closed on April 15th, 2005.
- Fee: The conference is FREE of charge. However, accommodation, meals and
all other personal expenses should be covered by the participants. All
participants are encouraged to join the conference banquet, which costs
JPY5,000.
- Visa: Some of overseas participants may be required to have a valid visa to enter Japan. The organizers can issue only a confirmation letter telling that she/he is attending the workshop. No other documents can be issued because of limited time and man power of the organizers. Please contact your local consulate if you need more information.
